Inspired from a breadth of techniques ranging from Martial Arts, Breaking, Snowboarding, Contemporary and Horton-inspired movement, this practice is based on finding expansive movements for stage dancing outside the ballet aesthetic.

This class centers on connecting hands and feet through the floor, accessing the horizontal plane, and initiating complex spirals to generate power. We will discuss how to use principles of momentum and counter-direction to safely and efficiently pour weight into the floor: Expanding movements to create strength, increased awareness, and physical confidence.

These progressive classes build technique and choreography for a final showing for friends and family.

In the spirit of storytelling, we pause to honour the ancient narratives of this land. We stand upon the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territories of the Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish) and Tsleil-Waututh Nations.

Just as we celebrate the diverse voices of immigrant and refugee artists, we recognize the First Peoples who have woven this place's first and enduring tales. Their stories are a testament to resilience, creativity, and the power of community. As we come together from many corners of the world, may we always remember, respect, and learn from the stories that this land holds.
